ABI Research Predicts Significant Growth for Mobile Broadband Sector

Dan Shey, practice director of ABI Research, a technology market intelligence company, stated that the mobile broadband sector will witness tremendous growth in the next few years largely due to the increased usage of and dependence on mobile broadband by companies.

A report released by ABI Research has predicted a growth of nearly 17 percent for the sector by the next year, and the Compound Annual Growth rate by 2014 is expected to be 12 percent. The “Business Mobility Market Data” report suggests that the highest growth would occur in America, with mobile broadband revenue growth in Eastern Europe and the Middle East being 27 percent and 26 percent respectively.

The research largely attributes this growth to the increasing demand of wireless mobile broadband services and technology by companies and businesses. With more and more companies merging and uniting to form single large units and with the emphasis on cost cutting, it is obvious that they would look for methods by which they can improve employee efficiency and productivity. Increase in efficiency would translate into effectiveness in business operations and ultimately profitability, which is perhaps the most important aspect of any company.

Mobile broadband helps employees to access and complete their work at all times and from any place. Therefore, companies have started providing mobile broadband laptops and other such similar devices to their employees even though such devices actually infringe on the employee
